Why Rubber for Splash Pads & Water Parks?

High traction where it’s always wet

Textured, slip-resistant rubber helps reduce slips in spray zones, run-outs, and zero-depth entries. It’s gentler on bare feet and joints, and stays noticeably cooler than plain concrete.

Color that works hard

UV-stable color lets you zone play areas, mark edges and no-run zones, and guide traffic—without paint layers that peel. It photographs beautifully and keeps the park looking fresh all season.

Built for heavy use and easy upkeep

Resistant to chlorinated (and salt) water, sunscreen, and constant foot traffic. Cleaning is simple; future touch-ups are localized—no full tear-outs—so downtime stays minimal.

Before & After

Before
Hot, slick concrete or aging coatings with stains, hairline cracks, and patched spots that show in guest photos—and in incident logs.

After
A seamless, slip-resistant surface that feels cooler, absorbs some impact, and cleans quickly. Clear color blocks define play zones and paths so flow is safer—and the space looks intentionally designed.

How it's installed

Beach Cove Resort - After Rubber Surfacing Installation

1. Site Walk + Phasing Plan – We start with a walkthrough to confirm scope, measurements, drainage flow, and guest traffic patterns—especially at entries, ride exits, and high-spray zones. We align on a phasing plan around operating hours and safety requirements so the venue can stay functional when possible and closures are clear and predictable.

2. Protect Features + Safe Work Zones – Spray elements, drains, coping, walls, ride bases, and nearby finishes are masked and protected. We establish controlled work zones with barriers and signage, and coordinate safe routing so guests and staff can move through the facility without crossing active work areas.

3. Heavy-Duty Cleaning + Surface Preparation – We deep clean and degrease to remove common water-venue buildup (sunscreen, oils, grime, and mineral deposits). The surface is mechanically prepped as needed to open the substrate for maximum bond—critical for constant wet/dry cycling and high foot traffic.

4. Repairs + Drainage & Transition Corrections – We address cracks, spalls, hollow spots, damaged edges, and low areas to create a stable, consistent foundation. Transitions to drains, thresholds, and existing surfaces are rebuilt for smoother water flow and safer footing. A primer/adhesion promoter is applied (and moisture-mitigation steps if needed) matched to the substrate and conditions.

5. Install Rubber Surfacing System – The rubber surfacing system is hand-troweled to the specified thickness and texture for wet, high-traffic environments. The finished surface is slip-resistant and comfortable underfoot, delivering a smooth, durable finish built for barefoot use and heavy seasonal demand.

6. Detailing + Cure Protection + Turnover – We detail tie-ins around nozzles/spray features, drains, steps, ramps/ADA transitions, perimeters, control joints, and adjacent surfaces for a clean, seamless finish. After cure protection, we complete a punch-list walk, cleanup, and turnover with care guidance, re-opening timeline, and any closeout documentation (photos/warranty as applicable).
