Maintenance & Care Guide
Caring for Your Carolina FlexShield™ Rubber Surfacing
Proper maintenance will keep your rubber pool deck, splash pad, or outdoor surface looking beautiful and performing safely for years to come. Follow these simple care guidelines to protect your investment.
Daily & Weekly Maintenance
- Remove Debris: Sweep or blow off leaves, dirt, and debris regularly to prevent staining and buildup
- Rinse Surface: Hose down the surface weekly to remove dust, pollen, and light dirt
- Spot Clean Spills: Clean up spills promptly to prevent staining, especially oils, sunscreen, and food
- Check Drainage: Ensure water drains properly and doesn't pool on the surface
Deep Cleaning (Monthly or As Needed)
Recommended Cleaning Solution:
- Mix mild dish soap or pH-neutral cleaner with warm water
- Use a soft-bristle brush or mop to scrub the surface
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water
- Allow surface to air dry completely
For Stubborn Stains:
- Use a mixture of water and white vinegar (1:1 ratio)
- Apply to stained area and let sit for 5-10 minutes
- Scrub gently with a soft brush
- Rinse thoroughly
What to Avoid
- Harsh Chemicals: Avoid bleach, ammonia, petroleum-based cleaners, and acidic solutions
- Pressure Washers: High-pressure washing can damage the surface. Use low pressure only if necessary
- Sharp Objects: Keep sharp tools, furniture, and equipment away from the surface
- Abrasive Scrubbers: Don't use wire brushes or abrasive pads that can damage the rubber
- Oil-Based Products: Avoid petroleum-based cleaners, solvents, or lubricants
