FAQ's
Every deck is unique. Share a few photos, approximate square footage, and any trouble spots (cracks, pooling water). We’ll reply with a straightforward range and a clear plan—no pushy sales talk.
Getting Started (The Basics)
What exactly is poured-in-place rubber surfacing?
A seamless layer of small rubber granules bound with a durable resin and installed over a solid base. It creates a cushioned, slip-resistant surface that looks clean, feels great under bare feet, and stands up to busy, wet areas.
Where does this make sense to use?
Pool decks, splash pads, walkways, steps/landings, driveways, and other high-traffic areas where comfort, traction, and low maintenance matter.
What colors or patterns can we do?
Lots. You can go with a single color, marbled blends, or simple borders. We’ll bring real samples so you can see them in daylight next to your house.
How big is your service area?
We serve communities across North and South Carolina (regional phone lines are listed on our contact page).
Pricing & Scheduling
How do you figure out the price? Can I get a ballpark?
Price comes from square footage plus a few basics: base condition (any crack fixes), design (single color vs. blends/border), and access (stairs, tight gates). Send photos and rough measurements—we’ll share a helpful range. Your written quote shows what’s included, line by line.
Do you take a deposit? How do payments work?
Yes. A deposit saves your date and materials, a progress payment may apply on bigger jobs, and the rest is due at completion. We spell out the exact timing in your proposal.
When can you start, and how long until we can use it?
Start times shift with the season. Most homes take 1–3 workdays on site. Plan on about 48 hours before light foot traffic and a few more days before heavy furniture.
Any tips to keep costs reasonable?
Pick a simple color plan, group areas into one visit, clear access ahead of time, and finish any unrelated repairs before we arrive. All of that saves time and materials.
Design, Installation & Performance
What happens on install day?
We prepare the surface, grind transitions, lay drops as needed, set up the mixing station, then place and smooth the rubber mix. We make transitions at doors, drains, and coping so everything feels clean underfoot. Joints are treated so the surface can flex with the slab.
Where does it really shine—and what does it feel like?
Best in wet, busy, bare-foot areas: pools, splash pads, walkways, steps, patios, and shared amenities. It’s cushioned and keeps traction when wet. For HOAs/resorts, we can phase work to limit downtime.
Will it hold up in weather and sun? Can it be fixed if damaged?
Yes. It flexes through freeze–thaw, and quality TPV granules are UV-stable for outdoor color. If something gouges a spot, small repairs are typically quick and blend in well.
What about colors and matching our look?
Choose a single color, a marbled blend, or a simple border. Darker colors feel warmer; lighter blends stay more comfortable. We bring real samples so you can compare next to your coping, trim, or stone. Simple shapes/patterns are possible—we’ll guide you to what stays crisp.
Care, Warranty & Aftercare
What’s everyday care like, and what should I avoid?
Day to day is simple: use a leaf blower or broom for leaves and sand, a gentle hose rinse for dust, and mild soap + soft brush for sunscreen or food spills. Skip harsh chemicals and wire brushes—they’re overkill and can dull the finish.
Can I pressure-wash it? What about leaf or mildew stains?
Light pressure-washing is fine—just keep a safe distance. For leaf/tannin marks, treat early with a mild cleaner and lift planters now and then so moisture doesn’t sit in one spot. If something stubborn shows up, we’ll suggest surface-friendly products.
What support and warranty do you provide after install?
Your proposal includes job-specific warranty terms. If anything feels off, reach out—most fixes are quick (a small touch-up or guidance on care). We’re happy to check in after your first season and answer questions anytime.
How long does it last, and can it be refreshed later?
With normal care, it holds up for years in both homes and commercial spaces. Most owners just clean it. If you ever want a cosmetic refresh or to add a new area, we can match colors and keep everything looking consistent.
