Baldhead Island Club
Project Snapshot
1. Club Site Review & Finish Alignment
We began with a full walk-through to confirm measurements, assess drainage, and identify how members move through the space each day. The plan was built around a clean, refined finish—protecting the surrounding architecture while ensuring the surface performed reliably in wet zones.
2. Precision Prep & Surface Correction
The existing coating was removed where required and the deck was cleaned and prepared to receive the new system. We addressed cracks, chips, and uneven areas to create a smooth, consistent foundation—so the final install would look intentional and hold up over time.
3. Detail Masking for Crisp Lines & Clean Edges
Coping, drains, walls, steps, rail posts, and adjacent fixtures were masked and protected with extra attention to detail. This ensured sharp transitions, tidy perimeter lines, and a controlled jobsite that matched the club’s standards.
4. Primer & Bond Step for Durable Adhesion
A high-performance primer was applied to lock in the bond between the base and the rubber surface. This step helps prevent edge failure and protects the system’s integrity—especially in areas that see repeated wet/dry cycles and regular foot traffic.
5. Custom Club Blend & FlexShield™ Application
A custom TPV rubber color blend was selected to complement the club environment and maintain a polished, cohesive look. The Carolina FlexShield™ system was hand-troweled to the specified thickness to deliver a low-profile texture with confident slip resistance and comfortable footing.
6. Seamless Transitions & Final Quality Check
We detailed all terminations and transitions for a smooth, finished look—especially around drains, steps, and perimeter edges. After curing, the surface was inspected for slip resistance, consistency, and overall presentation before being returned to full member use.
